Like HBO striving to birth a spinoff phoenix from the ashes of the divisive final season of Thrones , TV execs are convinced there is still life after the death of joy in the last How I Met Your Mother . Two times now producers have attempted to assembled a reboot with a foregone premise: How I met Your Father. The first try, in 2014, produced only a pilot, How I Met Your Dad , which starred future Oscar nominee (for writing and directing) Greta Gerwig.
