My class b wouldn’t start, but I was able to start it by touching both posts on the solenoid making me assume I needed a new solenoid. I put in a new solenoid and I still have the exact same problem. Can this have anything to do with the battery isolator? I can’t think of anything else it would be since both solenoids would start it up touching the posts it’s not the starter. I guess it’s POSSIBLE it’s the ignition switch but this seems […]

Helping you be more prepared for vanlife than I was. I was wildly misinformed about vanlife. When I cashed in on my van-dwelling dreams, I had visions of awe-inspiring road trips, showering outside immersed in nature, and epic sunrise views framed by my billowing curtains and van doors. Like camping but way more comfortable, paired with the freedom to pick up and move at will. This overly-romanticized version of vanlife does happen on occasion. But the bulk of vanlife is rugged, complicated, frustrating, and chock-full […]

That said, there’s a lot to know when traveling with a trailer or motorhome, something that can make the whole experience a little overwhelming, especially for first-timers. This allows you to have some idea of the ins and outs of RV camping before you’re in the middle of your vacation. Of course, […]

Photo: OpturaDesign (Shutterstock) Venmo is convenient, but the app comes with privacy risks if not properly set up. Not only does Venmo automatically link to your Facebook and phone contacts, it also lets users make publicly viewable transactions. This activity even shows up on a global Venmo feed accessible from the main app screen. Why Venmo thinks we need to see a chronological feed of random strangers sending money to each other is beyond me, but the bigger issue is that anyone can search for […]

Photo: Getty Images (Getty Images) On one end of the parenting-style spectrum are the “ helicopter parents ” who hover in an ever-vigilant attempt to protect their children from basically everything. On the opposite end, we have the “ free range parents ” who let their kids roam—just like we all did in the good ol’ days, back when we only came home for the occasional sandwich or when the street lights came on at dusk. But there is a middle ground to be found […]

In both situations, you have to shop around, but interviewing your potential counselors is a lot tougher than just reading Yelp reviews—especially because there’s no guarantee a therapist’s methods will click for you like they do for their other patients. In finding a therapist, you’re looking to build a relationship with someone you can trust, and that trust isn’t easily […]

Photo: Dan Kitwood (Getty Images) First time growers are often told to buy plants like bamboo, cacti, or succulents. We’re told these are resilient plants that don’t need a lot of attention. And sure, while they are “hardy” as plants go, the notion that a succulent can survive anything you do to it is sadly mistaken. Growing site Altman Plants debunks some of the myths around these varied plants: No, you don’t need to plant them in sand. No, they don’t need direct sunlight. Yes, […]

Soon she was cooking up all kinds of meals outside, including her Dutch oven specialty: breads. “Then my family got excited about it,” Farrell said, adding that she, too, was excited to use the Dutch oven to cook for her family, since she normally […]

A couple of weeks ago, I posted on here about me pulling a 7600lb (dry) trailer with our Ford Expedition. Since then, I’ve seriously been researching trucks to upgrade to, and I’m very torn. I’ve decided diesel is the route I’m going because we’re planning on taking trips and not staying local all the time. Coming from Indiana, majority of those trips will require mountain hauling. I’m stuck between the Dodge 2500 Mega Cab and a Ford F-250. Does it really come down to whether […]

You probably have electric and gas water heaters so I would start with 1 at a time as you don’t need both. My electric water heater makes a buzzing noise when working. My gas water heater burns propane and exhausts hot air. I also have an EMS that shows my current draw so I can tell if my water heater is using 13-14 amps like it’s supposed to. Also never turn on the water heater when the tank is empty or you can damage your […]

Howdy, This is my first post on this sub but hoping first of many. My wife and are wanting to buy an RV and there is a local place that does a rental management program (American Dream Vacation). A few of my biggest issues with buying an RV are storage and usage. However, with ADV’s rental management, you basically hand it over to them to do everything. They do everything: reservations, cleaning, insurance, customer breakdowns/issues, etc. They advertise that you can make decent money off […]

In particular, specificity makes goals easier to plan for and track. For example, “eat less takeout,” isn’t as good as, “eat takeout at most twice per week.” But while being specific can be useful, it it can also be counterproductive for some more complex situations. The cost of specificity When you’re setting out to […]

Even if your cohabiter’s diet preferences are in line with yours, their presence can repress your more feral tendencies, like making a bowl of ganache in the microwave and eating it with a spoon (just as an example).
